Meet the new Big Fuel Social Labs

November 16, 2011

Big Fuel is the latest agency to join the VivaKi network. Focused on social media, the company is “one part marketing agency, building brands through consumer insight; one part entertainment company, creating content that people love; and one part distribution company, driving guaranteed results by delivering content to targeted audiences.”

Staying on top of developments and opportunities in social media requires significant time and effort, as well as an experimental mindset. To address this need, Big Fuel has recently launched an internal initiative called ‘Big Fuel Social Labs’.

As Michoel Ogince, the mind behind the program, describes it:

“Social media is fueled by brands, content and consumers, but its DNA is technology. To engage audiences and increase marketing ROI, marketers need to react to the rapid and complex changes in technology.

Now we have created Big Fuel Social Labs—an educational playground to share with you this emerging social technology and how it affects marketers, brands and consumers.”

To begin with, Social Labs is sharing content with two tweets a day on the Big Fuel Twitter handle and a weekly blog post on Content to Commerce. “In its first month, the program has gained significant traction, spurring lively conversations around the #BFSocialLabs hashtag,” says Kimberly Reyes, Big Fuel’s Communication Manager.

According to Michoel things will move beyond tweeting and blogging. We asked him what’s on the roadmap and his response, “Can’t share that yet but we have big plans!”

Social Labs is managed by Michoel Ogince, Director Platform and Product Strategy and overseen by Devrin Carlson-Smith, EVP Product Development and Innovation; Seth Berk, CMO; and Meghan Henderson, EVP Delivery, North America.
