Zenith Media’s Avatar home video campaign takes home two more awards

It may seem like it has been a while since Avatar came out on Blu-ray and DVD, but Zenith Media isn’t done winning awards for its innovative and incredibly popular out-of-home campaign for the release.
Last spring, shoppers at The Grove in Los Angeles had the opportunity to do way more than just shop – they could see just what they would look like as a Na’vi. Working with Inwindow, Zenith Media created a kiosk of multiple digital screens that morphed the images of shoppers’ faces into Na’vi right in front of them. Inwindow created the custom face morphing technology specifically for this campaign.
“The AVATAR campaign was the perfect blend of strategy, creativity and technology. We developed a platform that gave fans the opportunity to have a personalized AVATAR experience and the tools to help them share it with friends,” said Tina Pukonen, EVP, Managing Director Zenith West. “We’re honored that both consumers and the industry have responded in such a positive way.”
Last month, both agencies were awarded the Outdoor Advertising Association of America’s Gold OBIE in the Special FX category and a Mediapost Digital Out-of-Home Award for Most Innovative Technology/Platform. Both awards recognize excellence and inventiveness in outdoor advertising. These are the second and third industry awards received for this campaign.
